We offer a professional bespoke picture framing service which is nestled in the heart of West Wales, just a stone’s throw away from Cardigan bay.

Having trained with a conservation framer in Bath and having years of experience with framing artists collections for galleries, we can assure that both quality and the customer’s vision is at the forefront of our business.

We also pride ourselves on being able to turnaround your framing needs as quickly as possible to suit your deadlines. We are competitive with our prices and have a range of high quality mouldings, mounts and glazing options available for you.

Having worked alongside curators and artists, we are able to offer advice and guidance on what materials and choice of frame would best suit your artwork or item. We can cater for a variety of needs such as box, traditional and contemporary frames. If you have items such as artwork, prints, photos, textiles, documents, artefacts and memorabilia that you wish to give extra care to, you might want to consider conservation grade framing.

About Me

Head Framer

My name is Gwion Mathias and I’ve set up this new framing and canvas making business in the heart of West Wales. Having trained as a framer with a background in the arts, I have many years of experience in working with artists and the creative industry. My venture began when I invested in the equipment to frame my wife’s work who is a full time artist.

Over the last few years I have completed training courses in conservation framing. My work has grown as I have now expanded to frame for many more clients and I have set up a professional framing studio.

The name of the business ‘ Gwdihw’ came from my many late nights framing for gallery exhibitions . During this busy time, an owl was visiting the tree next to the studio and there came the idea for the name. Gwdihw is a Welsh name for Owl.

As I will offer out of working hours service for my clients, I shall be happy to accept early morning or evening drop off and collection of works in addition to my usual working day.

Drop off and pick up of your frames

As our framing studio is located at our home address, we are able to offer out of hours drop off and pick up of your frames.

We are able to offer a collection and delivery service for orders in Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire.

We can also organise a courier service for larger orders and deliveries further afield for moving gallery collections, artist’s exhibitions and bulk frame orders.
